Bumper Lamp Installation
PLEASE READ ALL BEFORE STARTING INSTALLATION
Fitment and Modifications:
Depending on the type of bumper you are using these lamps on, you may need to make modifications to ensure proper fit. The tabs and mounting locations may not be an immediate fit to each other. The FTR and OEM lamp housing are not an exact identical shape. Please keep in mind that there will be minor modifications even on an OEM bumper.
Ex. OEM bumper to FTR Lamps OR Aftermarket Bumper(Mugen, Mugen replica, OEM Replica, etc) to FTR Lamps.
To ensure proper fit and no damage to the bumper lamps, fitting may involve cutting, trimming and drilling holes for mounting.
The tab on the lamp will need to fit into the bumper without interference. Do not force the lamp in as it can break the tab or crack the bumper itself (if using a fiberglass bumper). Trim and cut the tab holes so the tab slides into them without interference and resistance. The tab should freely slide in and keep the lamp in place.
The tabs on these lamps are larger than on the OEM lamps. When installing on an OEM plastic bumper, you can either trim the hole bigger or you can use a heat gun to soften the area for the tab to create a larger opening.
Some parts of the lamp area of the bumper may interfere with the back housing of the lamp. Trim accordingly to ensure a flush fit. Some aftermarket bumpers will have uncut material in this area that will need to be removed to properly fit the FTR and OEM lamps.
